Morocco Boosts Air Defense with Advanced French Radars, Expanding Surveillance Range

Morocco has just acquired 3 units of very high-performance radar, capable of sweeping the airspaces of southern Spain and northwestern Algeria.
The 3 latest generation radars, developed by the French company Thales and to be installed on 3 geostrategic sites, will ensure control of the airspace of the kingdom thanks to a range of 470 kilometers.
The spatial detection devices, including one unit installed near the Spanish enclave of Melilla, make it possible to trace the movements of both aircraft, drones and missiles at a distance of 370 kilometers.
In addition to their high technological performance, these radars are easily transportable and can be moved from one site to another in C130 aircraft.
