Morocco to Boost Family Allowances for Private Sector Workers Starting September

The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) is working to implement the increase in family allowances. This decision taken during the social dialogue will take effect on September 1, 2019.
According to a source close to the Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani, the Council of Government will adopt, on Thursday, August 29, 2019, the decree implementing the decision to pay the increased family allowances for the private sector.
This information will be confirmed by Mohamed Yatim, Minister of Employment. Interviewed by Le360, he said that the release will first take place in 90% of cases on September 1, after the publication of the decree in the Official Bulletin before the end of August. Then, the Council of Government will proceed, on Thursday, to the adoption of this implementing decree.
Thus, each child will now benefit from 100 dirhams in terms of family allowances. According to Mohamed Yatim, the delay in the payment of these is linked to the time it took, since July 17, 2019, for the Board of Directors of the CNSS to approve the government decision to increase the allowances.
