Morocco Blocks German Cruise Ship from Docking Due to COVID-19 Cases

The Moroccan authorities refused on Monday the disembarkation of a cruise ship from the port of Lisbon at the port of Tangier Medina, due to Covid-19 cases on board.
According to sources requesting anonymity, the Mein Schiff Herz, a German cruise ship considered one of the largest tourist ferries in the world, was prevented from docking at the port of Tangier Medina, due to the detection of positive cases, while the ship was two miles from Moroccan territorial waters, reports Le360. In total, nearly 1,785 tourists and 640 other crew members were on board this ship which came from the port of Lisbon in Portugal and was to disembark, for the very first time, at the port of Tangier on Tuesday at 7:00 a.m.
It was following the receipt by the Moroccan health authorities of a report indicating an increase in Covid-19 cases among the passengers that the ship was denied access to the Moroccan port.
