Morocco’s $1 Billion Tiznit-Dakhla Expressway Nears Completion, Boosting Regional Connectivity

The work on the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway is progressing at a steady pace and is nearing completion. The completion rate has reached 98%.
The Tiznit-Dakhla expressway aims to facilitate the transport of goods and passengers between the two cities. The work on this mega-project, consisting of the widening and duplication of the lanes of the N1 national road over a distance of 1,055 km, is almost completed. The overall completion rate is 98%.
The section connecting Guelmim to Dakhla is fully completed, to the delight of users who have noted a smooth flow of traffic. As for the section connecting Tiznit to Guelmim, the work will be completed by the end of the year. At a total cost of around 10 billion dirhams, the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway is part of the new development model for the southern provinces.
This mega-project will ultimately impact 10 provinces and more than 2.2 million inhabitants. It will contribute to the socio-economic development of four regions of the kingdom, namely Souss-Massa, Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.
