Morocco Begins Exporting Medical Masks, Potentially to Algeria

A Boeing 737 cargo plane is said to have landed for the first time at the Mohamed V airport in Casablanca, in the afternoon of Thursday, May 7. Algeria would have joined the circle of countries importing medical masks made in Morocco.

According to the site Kech24, the plane would have been chartered to transport a cargo of protective masks that Morocco has started to export abroad, after having met the bulk of its needs.

With 7 million masks produced per day, Morocco has managed to meet local demand, and aims to export 50% of its production internationally. An ambition that seems to be justified by the growing demand in the European market.

Air traffic at the airport has also been marked by the arrival of two planes from Belgium and Spain, with the aim of repatriating nationals from the two countries, stranded in Morocco since the suspension of air links.
