Morocco Begins COVID-19 Financial Aid Payments to Informal Sector Workers

Starting April 6, Al Barid Bank will pay the financial aid to the beneficiaries of the household support program, decided by the Economic Monitoring Committee.
The bank is doing everything to pay the aid received by the authorities to the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries in the informal sector will be notified by SMS with all the payment details.
This aid takes into account in a first phase, the people registered with Ramed and the amount is set according to the size of the household. It is planned to allocate 800 dirhams to households of two people or less, 1,000 DH to households of 3 to 4 people and 1,200 dirhams to households of more than 4 people. The second phase will take into account households without a Ramed card. They will be paid through the Special Fund for the Management of Covid-19.
A bank press release informs that the beneficiaries will be paid at its ATMs or the branches of its subsidiary, Barid Cash, upon presentation of a national identity card. The Bank assures that arrangements are made to strictly comply with hygiene and prevention measures against coronavirus. ATMs are disinfected and equipped with a stock of tissues and the reception and security teams are strengthened to better support the beneficiaries.
