Morocco is active in the construction of its pavilion, as part of the first World Expo organized in the Middle East. Called "Expo 2020 Dubai", it is scheduled to be held from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021, in the locality of Jebel Ali.
The first World Expo, organized in the Middle East, "Expo 2020 Dubai", will be held from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021 around the theme "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future". Morocco has confirmed its participation and the construction work on the Moroccan pavilion, on the Expo site, was launched on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the Salon, located in the locality of Jebel Ali, under the supervision of Mustapha Bakkoury, Commissioner General of the Moroccan Section at the Expo, and Mohamed Ait Ouali, Ambassador of Morocco to the United Arab Emirates.
Installed on a plot of nearly 1,500 m², within the "Opportunity" district, the Moroccan Pavilion intends to sell the wealth, talents and opportunities of the Kingdom. Its architecture combines modernity and tradition, with a building that, while being at the forefront of construction techniques, is inspired by the ancestral methods of earth construction, like certain Moroccan villages.
For Mustapha Bakkoury, "Morocco has participated in the World Expos since 1867, by realizing pavilions that celebrated the historical and heritage dimension of its culture". 190 countries are also expected during this exhibition, with more than 25 million visits. Morocco’s participation will have certain repercussions and will contribute to the economic and cultural influence of the Kingdom, while marking a new anchor point in the fraternal relations between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.
