Morocco Bars Entry to Danish Travelers Amid New COVID Variant Concerns

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that Morocco has banned the entry into its territory of travelers from Denmark. This decision follows the discovery of the new variant of the coronavirus on Danish territory.
According to the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, this measure taken by the Moroccan authorities will continue until further notice. In addition to Morocco, Turkey, Israel and Sweden have suspended air links with Denmark.
The new strain of the coronavirus had first been discovered in the United Kingdom. As a result, Morocco, India and some European and Gulf countries decided to suspend their flights with this country. The kingdom had made this decision on December 20. In the wake of this, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) had suspended until further notice all flights to and from Great Britain before deciding to resume them from February 11, 2021.
