Morocco Bans Controversial Film "The Lady of Heaven" Over Religious Concerns

Another film banned from screening in Morocco. This is the film "The Lady Of Heaven" whose request for screening in cinemas has been rejected by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM).
Directed by Eli King and Yasser Al Habib, "The Lady Of Heaven" will not be screened in Morocco. In a statement, the CCM specifies that this decision comes following the warning of the Supreme Council of Ulema chaired by King Mohammed VI, firmly condemning this film whose content is contrary to the constants of Morocco as defined in the Constitution.
The statement recalls that Morocco is in the habit of authorizing the screening of cinematographic works whether or not they were filmed in Morocco. But when the content of these productions goes against the legislative and regulatory texts governing the cinematographic sector in Morocco, the constants and the sanctities of the Kingdom, censorship becomes a legitimate weapon.
