Morocco Bans All Travelers from China Amid COVID-19 Surge

Radical. While a majority of Western countries have decided to impose a PCR test on passengers from China, Morocco has just banned access to its territory to all people coming from this country, where Covid cases have exploded in recent weeks.
The decision was made on Saturday evening, according to the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement "in light of the evolution of the health situation related to Covid-19 in China, and regular and direct contacts with the Chinese side, and in order to avoid a new wave of contamination in Morocco and all its consequences."
For the Moroccan authorities, "this exceptional measure in no way tarnishes the sincere friendship between the two peoples and the strategic partnership between the two countries, to which the Kingdom remains strongly attached."
