Morocco’s Automotive Exports Surge to Record $10 Billion, Up 35% in 2023

Moroccan automotive exports generated a turnover of 100.37 billion dirhams at the end of the first eleven months of the year, an increase of 35% compared to the same period in 2021.
This is the first time these figures have exceeded the 100 BMDH mark, indicates the Foreign Exchange Office, which specifies in its recent note on the monthly indicators of foreign trade that this increase in exports concerns all segments.
According to these data, sales in the construction segment increased by 46.2%, those in the cabling segment by 7.6%, while those in the vehicle interior and seat segment increased slightly by 3.4%.
As for phosphates and derivatives, their sales increased by 54.8% to 108.04 BMDH at the end of November, compared to 69.78 BMDH at the end of November 2021. This trend is attributable to the increase in sales of natural and chemical fertilizers (+30.024 BMDH) due to the price effect which has almost doubled.
