Morocco’s Auto Sales Slump Continues in January, Industry Data Shows

Car sales in Morocco are still sluggish at the beginning of the year, according to industry professionals.
This year again, the automotive sector is not really taking off. It "starts the year as it ended it," observes L’Économiste.
According to statistics from the Association of Car Importers in Morocco (AIVAM), new vehicle sales fell by 1.15%, settling at 12,504 units, all categories combined.
The market is experiencing a 3.61% decline, reports the same media, which specifies that the passenger car segment accounts for more than 89% of sales, dragging the market down.
For its part, the light commercial vehicle segment is holding its ground with a 26.32% increase. In the ranking, we find Dacia (3,392 units), Renault (1,638 units) and Hyundai (929 units).
