Morocco’s Auto Market Shows Mixed Results: Passenger Vehicle Sales Drop, LCVs Rise

While sales of passenger vehicles have recorded a decline at the end of November, those of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) are showing an upward trend.
While the months of October and November were prosperous for the automotive market, that of November was not so bright, according to the latest statistics from the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM). In total, 128,023 passenger vehicles (PVs) were sold by the end of November, compared to 140,985 in the same period in 2018, a decrease of -10%. Even though it is a month marked by public holidays, the causes of this mixed market are deep-rooted, analyzes Challenge.ma.
However, the picture is not so gloomy. Automotive operators such as Dacia, Kia, Opel, Skoda, Suzuki, Toyota or Volvo have achieved excellent sales scores on their PV range compared to the same period last year, it is specified. The same performance was recorded among premium vehicle operators, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and even Lexus. LCV sales, on the other hand, have seen an increase, with a 25% growth.
