Morocco Arrests 8 After Protests Disrupt Same-Sex Wedding Ceremony Near Marrakech

Residents of the Marrakech area gathered last Saturday in front of a guest house to prevent a marriage between two men. They alerted the authorities who arrested at least 8 people.
It would be about twenty young people, mostly from Marrakech, but also foreigners, who would have organized, in a guest house, in the vicinity of Marrakech, and more precisely in Douar Ben Yaich, what seemed to be a ceremony of a homosexual marriage, between two men, preceded by a sexual orgy, according to sources cited by Alyaoum24. An employee of the establishment would have alerted the neighborhood. The wedding was to take place around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Many residents would then have gathered in front of the guest house, demanding the interruption of the ceremony and the expulsion of the guests. The owner refused to comply with this request. The residents then called the services of the Royal Gendarmerie.
On their arrival, the gendarmes provoked a tumult, indicates the same source. At least 8 people were arrested while the majority of guests managed to flee. For now, the authorities have not communicated on this matter nor confirmed the nature of this party.
