Morocco Arrests Five Israelis in Fake Passport Forgery Ring

The investigation into the case of illegally obtained Moroccan fake passports issued to Israeli nationals has just led to the arrest of several other people, all of whom have Israeli nationality.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that it has arrested "five foreigners holding Israeli passports, for their alleged involvement in obtaining Moroccan identity documents and passports by forgery", adding that the dismantled criminal network a few days ago was led by a Moroccan Jew who is suspected "of involvement in the forgery of Moroccan identity documents for the benefit of Jewish citizens of non-Moroccan origin".
Among the individuals arrested, two were the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol for "their arrest and extradition at the international level" and one of them "is suspected of involvement in premeditated homicides within the framework of international organized crime networks while the second is linked to international drug trafficking networks". However, the Moroccan authorities do not specify the country that made this request.
During the searches carried out at their homes, the police seized "large sums of money in national and foreign currencies, a quantity of hashish, Moroccan identity documents obtained by forgery", as well as mobile phones and computer equipment.
They have all been taken into custody pending their appearance in court.
