Morocco Approves Sound Energy’s Gas Pipeline Project in Eastern Region

The Ministry of Energy has approved the environmental impact study (EIS) of Sound Energy’s Tendrara gas export pipeline project (TGEP), thus giving the British company the green light to settle in eastern Morocco.
With the approval of the EIS and the rights granted to Sound Energy, the British industrial company will be able to build a gas treatment plant and a compression station. It plans to build and operate a 120-kilometer gas pipeline with a diameter of 20 inches to connect the future gas treatment plant and the compression station (CPF) of the Maghreb Europe Gas Pipeline (GME).
Similarly, the company announces that it has obtained official land access permits. Accordingly, Sound Energy wants to continue negotiations with the ministry on the land access tariff.
The negotiations on the Tendrara Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) are ongoing, but the company does not expect to conclude a binding agreement before March 31 of this year, it said in a press release.
