Morocco Approves 34 SME Projects to Boost COVID-19 Supply Production

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy announced last Saturday that 34 investment projects carried by SMEs have been approved by the public-private selection committee. This was the result of a call for projects, called "Imtiaz-Technologies covid-19", launched by the Maroc PME Agency.
The investment projects concerned are carried by SMEs for the manufacture of products and equipment used in the fight against the coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic. These include masks, personal protective equipment (medical suits, protective gowns, etc.), medical devices, hydroalcoholic gels and disinfectant products, the ministry said.
The investment amount of these projects is estimated at nearly 272 million dirhams. They will generate 487 jobs in 7 regions: Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Casa-Settat, Marrakech-Safi, Fès-Meknès, Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Souss-Massa and the Oriental, the same source specifies, noting that "the approved projects will benefit from an investment subsidy of 30% of the investment amount capped at 10 MDH for SMEs and 1.5 MDH for VSEs".
