Morocco Approves Johnson & Johnson and Sputnik V Vaccines for Temporary Use

In Morocco, the national technical and scientific advisory vaccination committee gave the green light on Tuesday to the American and Russian vaccines Johnson & Johnson and Sputnik V. Their use will however be temporary.
"The committee considered that these two vaccines are effective, safe and can be stored at temperatures ranging between 2 and 8 °C," explains Moulay Said Afif, president of the Moroccan Society of Medical Sciences (SMSM), also a member of the national technical vaccination committee.
Approved in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the American vaccine Johnson & Johnson is 86% effective against severe forms of the virus overall and 66% against symptomatic forms. As for the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, already approved in Russia, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, India and Venezuela, it is 91.6% effective against the symptomatic forms of the disease, according to The Lancet.
