Morocco Appoints 16 New Consuls General, Expanding Diplomatic Presence in Europe

Sixteen new appointments of consuls general, mainly in Europe, have been announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thus strengthening the consular network with new skills.

According to a statement from the ministry, this wave of appointments is part of the consolidation of the acquired consular expertise and the recognition of merit. Thus, 60% of the appointments concern officials who have previously held responsibilities at the level of the central administration and diplomatic missions.

The objective is also to inject new blood into the consular function and to promote female skills. In this sense, 56% of the consuls general have been appointed for the first time, and 40% of them are women, the same source points out.

In addition, consuls general have been redeployed to other consular posts: such as from Orly to Paris, from Rennes to Bastia, to guarantee the spirit of promoting positive experiences.
