Morocco: another increase in fuel prices

Bad news for Moroccan motorists. At the pump, fuel prices will continue to rise. This time, very sharply.
The bill is getting heavier and heavier for Moroccan motorists. According to El Houssine El Yamani, president of the National Front for the Preservation of Samir and secretary general of the National Union of Oil and Gas, fuel prices should experience a significant increase. In a Facebook post, he explains that the increase in the global price of crude oil, which has recently exceeded $90 per barrel, is the cause of this expected increase, as it directly impacts the cost of producing fuels. Another factor: the increase in oil refining margins leading to higher profits for distributors.

According to El Yamani, the price of diesel should exceed 15 dirhams per liter in the coming days. As for the price of gasoline, it should reach the 17 dirhams per liter mark. Until now, the price per liter of diesel has been over 13.50 dirhams. As for the liter of unleaded gasoline, it exceeds 15 dirhams. The cost of transportation also influences the price of fuels in other cities of the kingdom, leading to price differences depending on the distance.
