Morocco and Vinci Autoroutes Partner on Eco-Friendly Highway Initiative

"This project consists of organizing all the positive contributions of the highway infrastructure to improve the environmental impact of the infrastructure and road transport," said Pierre Coppey, President of Vinci Autoroutes, in an interview with Aujourd’hui.ma. He stated that Vinci Autoroutes and Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) intend to continue their cooperation in this direction.
According to his explanations, low-carbon means promoting collective shared mobility, carpooling, buses, and coaches on highways. Moreover, encouraging decarbonized fuels, namely hydrogen or electricity, and deploying electricity distribution means.
Defining sustainable mobility, Pierre Coppey suggested that this involves taking into account all the means of reducing the carbon footprint and improving road safety. "Sustainable mobility on the highway consists of remembering that the highway is an infrastructure and not a mode of transport," he said.
According to him, this infrastructure can accommodate various modes of transport, particularly more collective, more economical, less polluting and safer modes. That is why, "our effort on the low-carbon highway consists of thinking about all these contributions in a coherent way," said the President of Vinci Autoroutes.
