Morocco and Spain to Finalize Marhaba 2022 Operation Plans in Rabat Meeting

Morocco and Spain are actively preparing the Marhaba 2022 operation, after two years of suspension. A meeting is scheduled for May 5 in Rabat to review the final preparations.
This meeting will be held within the framework of the Spanish-Moroccan Joint Commission, Spanish media report, specifying that a large Spanish delegation will be led to Rabat by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Isabel Goicoechea.
The official had chaired a first meeting in Spain on April 29, aimed at studying the security system to be put in place.
Spain will deploy 14,870 national police and civil guard officers for the operation, she had announced. In addition to the ministerial representatives, those of the government delegations of Ceuta and Melilla have also been invited.
The launch of the Marhaba 2022 operation is expected to be given on June 15 and continue until September 15. A record number of Moroccans Living Abroad is expected in Morocco this year.
