Morocco and Malaysia Explore Direct Flight Route to Boost Tourism

The Kingdom’s Ambassador to Malaysia has expressed his desire to see a direct air link launched between Rabat and Kuala Lumpur. This could give a new impetus to the tourism sector in the two countries.
The Moroccan ambassador’s statements were made on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Throne Feast. The abolition of visas between the two countries has led to an increase in the number of Malaysian tourists, from 3,000 to 5,000 visitors per year.
For the Ambassador, this number remains relatively low compared to the enormous potential of the two countries. However, he remains optimistic about the future prospects and the various possibilities of the sector.
"With a bit of luck, a direct line between Rabat and Kuala Lumpur will soon be set up, allowing better tourist rotation," he said to the Malaysian news agency Bernama.
Morocco and Malaysia signed a visa waiver agreement in 2017. This gives nationals of the two countries a 90-day stay right.
