Morocco and Israel Sign Renewable Energy Research Agreements, Focusing on Solar and Hydrogen

Energy specialists from Morocco and Israel were welcomed yesterday, Thursday, September 29, by the Center for Energy and Sustainability at Bar-Ilan University, for the signing of several agreements.

Thus, a binational research program will be conducted in which 33 Israeli groups and 20 Moroccan groups from various institutions will be partners. These research projects will focus on the development of rechargeable batteries, recycling, solar energy, the hydrogen economy, and Morocco’s main challenge, the storage and transportation of its energy.

The Moroccan delegation at the signing ceremony was led by the president of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, Hicham Al Habti, while on the Israeli side, scientists from the universities of Bar-Ilan, Tel-Aviv, Ben Gurion, Ariel, the Technion, the Weizmann Institute and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem participated in the event.
