Morocco and Israel Negotiate Visa-Free Travel Agreement

Morocco and Israel would be in discussion with a view to signing a visa exemption agreement. The two states continue to strengthen their ties after Israel’s recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.
In a recent statement to Telquel reported, Meir Masri, an influential member of the minority Israeli Labor Party, indicated that "the visa exemption project between Morocco and Israel is on the right track," considering it "shameful and unacceptable" to "require a visa to enter for our Moroccan brothers" while a European or Russian "can enter Israel without a visa."
Meir had been advocating for two years for visa exemption for Moroccans. At the time, the Israeli authorities had denied having engaged in discussions with Morocco in this regard. But the situation has evolved a lot after the strengthening of relations between Rabat and Tel Aviv, he points out.
Since July 2022, Morocco has launched the electronic visa application for Israelis. More than 150,000 electronic visas have already been issued to the latter out of 160,000 applications processed.
