Morocco and Israel Discuss Expanding Ties in Trade, Tech, and Tourism

The Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation, Ofir Akunis, received in audience on Tuesday, February 20, the head of the Moroccan Liaison Office, Abderrahim Bayoud. On the agenda of the exchanges: the implications of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the Hebrew State and the Kingdom.
The exchanges between Ofir Akunis and Abderrahim Bayoud focused on the expectations regarding the normalization of relations between Morocco and Israel and the implications of this agreement, reports Jerusalem Post. "The agreement between the two countries has enormous potential in the fields of trade, economy, tourism, technology and innovation. The agreement fundamentally changes the political situation in our region, creating an entirely new atmosphere in the Middle East," rejoiced the Israeli minister.
According to Ofir Akunis, Israeli citizens of Moroccan origin "are happy and excited about the relationship that is being forged between the two countries". He also stated that Israel intends to work for "the promotion of joint ventures between the two countries". For his part, Abderrahim Bayoud declared that this historic peace agreement between the two countries has pleased the Moroccan people who love Israel. "The Jewish tradition is an integral part of Moroccan culture," he said, noting that "after Ramadan, we will operate direct flights between the two countries".
