Morocco and Cambodia Plan Business Forum to Boost Economic Ties

On the sidelines of the visit of Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Morocco, it was decided to organize a business forum.
Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, and his Cambodian counterpart Prak Sokhonn agreed on the importance of organizing, in the near future, a Business Forum in Morocco or Cambodia, indicates a joint communiqué published at the end of their talks on March 27 in Rabat. This will be an opportunity for public and private operators from the two countries to better inform themselves about the economic potential and identify existing sectoral opportunities on both sides.
During their tête-à-tête, the two officials also stressed the need to promote trade and investment flows and develop cultural and scientific exchanges between Morocco and Cambodia, by capitalizing on their respective privileged positions in the regions of Africa and Southeast Asia.
The clothing trade could be boosted. According to TexPro, Fibre2Fashion’s market analysis tool, Morocco imported clothing worth $510.828 million in 2022, of which only $5.055 million, or 0.99%, came from Cambodia, compared to $4.348 million in 2021.
