Morocco and Algeria Face Off in High-Stakes U17 Africa Cup Quarterfinal

The derby between Algeria and Morocco promises to be explosive. The two teams will face each other on Wednesday evening in the quarter-finals of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, in a match that promises to be very competitive and which will above all be marked by the stakes of revenge. Indeed, the Algerians had won the victory against the Moroccans on penalties during the final of the Arab U17 Cup last year.
Moroccan coach Said Chiba said his team was not there to take revenge and was focusing solely on its performance on the pitch. "We are not looking to take revenge. We are simply ready to play and give everything to get a place for the World Cup. The previous defeat does not affect us at all," said Chiba, adding that "It will be a different match for the two teams, with new players, new tactics and new ideas. We will approach the match with a different approach."
Despite a defeat in their last match against Zambia, Morocco finished top of Group B with two wins against Nigeria and South Africa. Chiba explained that this did not affect their morale and their preparation for the match against Algeria. "It has absolutely no impact, as we made many changes to the team to give all the players a chance. We worked on the mental aspect of the players, which is crucial at this age," he said.
For Adam Hanin, the match would be difficult, but the team was ready to exploit the weaknesses of the opposing team. "We have studied their matches and identified some weaknesses that we can exploit. We are ready for the match. We will play by relying on our strengths and our game plan, and we hope to secure our ticket for the World Cup," added the FUS player.
Chiba also stressed that the large crowd expected at the Mohamed Hamlaoui stadium in Constantine did not worry them, on the contrary. According to him, this could work in their favor by putting pressure on the Algerian team.
