Morocco Aims for World Cup Berth in AFCON Quarter-Final Clash with Botswana

The Moroccan women’s football team faces its Botswana counterpart this Wednesday in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations. Objective: to win to validate the ticket for the ninth edition of the Women’s World Cup, scheduled in Australia and New Zealand.
The four semi-finalists of the competition will represent the continent at the World Cup to be played in a year. And this major challenge is what the Atlas Lionesses must take up, after dominating the tournament up to this stage.
Ghizlane Chebbak’s teammates are close to achieving the feat. To do this, they must win against Botswana in the match scheduled for this Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. at the Moulay Abdellah complex.
To achieve this, coach Reynald Pedros intends to insist on efficiency against an "well-organized" opponent. "There was a lot of waste, haste and we have a few situations in front of the goal that we have to concretize quickly, which would allow us to defuse the match and bring out the opposing team a little more. What we lack a little more is to be more killers in front of the goals," he said.
For the record, Morocco finished top of group A, while Botswana reached the same round as one of the two best third-placed teams.
