Morocco Aims to Rival India as Top Destination for Western Industrial Relocation

Leveraging its assets, Morocco is expressing its interest in the relocation of industry from Western countries, particularly European ones.
Positioning itself as a country with major assets in European and American competitiveness. This is Morocco’s wish in these times of Covid-19. "We intend to be as competitive as India in the next two years," said the Minister of Industry, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, during an exchange organized by Oxford Business Group (OBG) with the support of AMDIE.
The Oxford Business report also indicates that Morocco has been able to mobilize its industry at the height of the health crisis. From large-scale mask production, to a large number of Covid-19 screening tests, to limiting imports, the kingdom has shown a salutary resilience.
The document also highlights the achievements of the agri-food industry and the efforts made to accelerate the implementation of digital platforms. These platforms have enabled the continuity of key services such as education, healthcare and public administration.
The Covid-19 pandemic has served as a lever for Morocco, which has once again demonstrated the capabilities of its industry, which could benefit Western countries wishing to embark on the path of relocation.
