Morocco Aims to Produce 1 Million Cars Annually, Challenging Global Auto Industry

The Moroccan industry, particularly the automotive sector, has experienced a meteoric growth in recent years, propelling the Kingdom to the rank of serious competitors on the international scene. This is what Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, affirmed during a meeting organized by the Lafqui Titouani Foundation in Salé.
Morocco is now establishing itself as one of the main car manufacturers, with an annual production of 700,000 vehicles, and aims to reach an ambitious target of one million cars as early as next year. This success is reflected in the export of Moroccan vehicles to 70 countries, mainly in Europe, testifying to the considerable development of the Kingdom in this field and its ability to compete with global players like China.
Mr. Mezzour was keen to highlight the exceptional quality of the cars manufactured in the Kenitra plant, the result, he says, of the work and dedication of a skilled workforce that ensures both increased productivity and the maintenance of impeccable quality standards.
Furthermore, the minister also stressed the fight against speculation in the automotive sector. The cars produced in Morocco are thus sold to all distributors, whether national or international, at the same price set by the factory, thus ensuring fair access for all consumers.
