Morocco Aims to Boost Renewable Energy to 41% of Energy Mix by 2022

Morocco is working to rank among the nations that invest enough in the renewable energy sector. The Minister of Energy recently announced that the Kingdom plans to increase the share of renewable energies in the national energy mix to 41% by next year.
It was on the sidelines of the 10th General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) that the minister mentioned Morocco’s willingness to make major investments in renewable energies.
According to Azziz Rabbah, the national energy strategy launched by Mohammed VI aims to meet national needs and honor international commitments made in the fight against climate change and to ensure Morocco’s energy security.
The minister also stressed that Morocco attaches particular importance to the energy sector and is working to strengthen international partnership to support the changes taking place in the world in terms of energy supply.
