Morocco Aims to Attract 1 Million British Tourists by 2020

Morocco has great ambitions in tourism and is turning to the British market. Thus, the Kingdom plans to attract 1 million British tourists in 2020. The market is one of the world’s leading providers of tourists, with nearly 60 million travelers per year.
And, Morocco, which currently attracts nearly 700,000 tourists from the United Kingdom, aims to go beyond that, says the newspaper l’Economiste. The United Kingdom is the second largest sending market, after France, for tourist cities like Agadir and Marrakech.
With the disappearance of Thomas Cook, the Tourist Office has taken action to recover the lost market share. Professionals are also mobilizing.
In this context, the newspaper writes that a large delegation of tour operators and hoteliers will participate in the 40th edition of the World Travel Market, scheduled for November 4-6, 2019. Still, assures L’économiste, that the professionals of Marrakech remain confident to win this market.
