Morocco Aids Italy in Arrest of High-Ranking ISIS Member from Syria-Iraq

The services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) helped the Italian security services in charge of terrorism cases to arrest a Moroccan citizen who held positions of responsibility within the terrorist organization Daesh in its traditional strongholds on the Syrian-Iraqi scene.
In a statement, the DGST specifies that the security coordination and the exchange of information and intelligence between its services and their Italian counterparts made it possible to locate and arrest the suspect, alias "Abi Al-Barae", in Italy. This Moroccan citizen managed to illegally immigrate to Europe from the combat zones under the control of "Daesh".
He is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Moroccan judicial authorities, after the investigations and investigations carried out by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), under the DGST, with several people returning from the combat scenes under the control of Daesh, revealed that the suspect held important positions of responsibility within the "Islamic State", the same source said.
For now, the National Central Office, under the General Directorate of National Security (Interpol office in Rabat), the Moroccan judicial authorities and their Italian counterparts, are working to accelerate the sending of the suspect’s extradition file through the usual official channels.
