ISIS Affiliates Arrested in Morocco: BCIJ Thwarts Potential Terror Threat

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), under the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGSN), arrested, on June 1, two dangerous individuals affiliated with Daesh and active in the regions of Missour and Taza.
The arrest of these individuals, aged between 24 and 37, is part of the ongoing efforts to combat the terrorist threats that threaten the security and stability of the kingdom," the BCIJ said in a statement. One of them is a former detainee, under the anti-terrorism law, after he returned from the Syrian-Iraqi scene, where he had joined the ranks of this terrorist organization, the same source said.
During the searches carried out at the homes of the two suspects, the BCIJ elements seized electronic devices, paramilitary uniforms and bladed weapons. Preliminary investigations and research have revealed that the two suspects, who have pledged allegiance to the current emir of Daesh, had planned extremely dangerous terrorist attacks in the kingdom, targeting vital facilities, the headquarters of security services and military barracks, in order to serve the agenda of this terrorist organization, the source continued.
The two suspects have been placed in custody as part of the judicial investigation conducted by the BCIJ under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to uncover the terrorist projects they had planned and identify any potential accomplices, the BCIJ concluded.
