Morocco’s Agriculture Rebounds: Rainfall Boosts Crop and Livestock Outlook Despite Drought Concerns

Morocco expects a good agricultural harvest, as well as a significant livestock production, according to government spokesman Mustapha Baitas, thanks to the latest rainfall.
The year 2022 will not be just despair and disillusionment for Moroccan farmers. The latest rainfall recorded across the country has given hope to the agricultural world. The Moroccan Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Mohamed Sadiki, even declared on March 29 that it was still possible to have a good agricultural harvest. He confirmed that the rainfall recorded in March had an "immediate" impact on the crops. "We are almost on a million hectares of cereals that can experience an extremely important catch-up," he said.
Backing up these hopeful words from his colleague, the spokesman stressed that the chances of a large portion of the harvest being saved by the recent rains are high. These rains that fell in March will also relieve livestock farmers and improve meat and milk production.
