Morocco Advances to Kings World Cup Nations Quarter-Finals with Win Over Japan

After its big win over Ukraine (9-2), Morocco validated its ticket for the quarter-finals of the Kings World Cup Nations by beating Japan (4-2) on Monday at the KL Arena in Milan, Italy.
A new victory for the Atlas Lions. They beat Japan and advanced to the quarter-finals. Moroccan Issam Erraki opened the scoring in the 3rd minute. Mehdi Amri increased the score in the 16th minute. Japanese Kensuke Enjo reduced the score in the 20th minute. Nadir Louah and Fuad El Amrani each scored a goal, thus widening the gap. Japanese Junichi Kato converted a penalty in the 38th minute. The match ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of Morocco.
With 17 shots against 11 for Japan, and 9 shots on target against 4 for Japan, Morocco dominated the match. The Japanese held 56% possession with a 92% pass completion rate, but Morocco’s clinical finishing proved decisive. This fine victory allows the Atlas Lions to continue the adventure. They will play the quarter-finals scheduled for January 8 and 9.
