Morocco Activists Call for Boycott of Algerian Artists Amid Diplomatic Tensions
Dozens of Moroccan activists have called for a boycott of Algerian artists, asking organizers of cultural and artistic events in Morocco to no longer invite celebrities from the neighboring country, especially those who have made hostile statements against the kingdom.
These Moroccans have reiterated their wish to no longer see Algerian artists participate in artistic evenings in Morocco or at festivals. For some time now, Algerian artists have set their sights on the kingdom where they are regularly invited to cultural events, they denounce.
Algerian artists who have already made hostile statements against Morocco are particularly targeted by Moroccan activists who urge the organizers of artistic events, concerts and festivals in the kingdom to give priority to Moroccan artists to the detriment of their Algerian counterparts.
The call of these activists seems to have been heard. Several organizers of artistic events in Morocco have thus canceled the concerts of Algerian celebrities planned in the kingdom, in reaction to the hostile statements and acts of Algerian artists and authorities against Morocco and Moroccans.
