Morocco Acquires Advanced Israeli Missile Defense Systems Following Bilateral Agreement

Morocco has received advanced Israeli missile defense systems. This reception follows an agreement signed between Rabat and Tel Aviv last year.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense has announced that Morocco has received a set of advanced Israeli defensive weapon systems. This acquisition was the subject of the signing of a bilateral agreement between the two countries during the visit of the Israeli Minister of Defense, Benny Gantz, to Rabat last November. Israel had given Morocco a free hand to acquire advanced or sophisticated military systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles and an advanced air defense system, announced an Israeli website N12.
Thanks to the Abraham Accords, the Israeli defense industries Elbit, IAI, Rafael and others sold $800 million worth of products and services to Morocco, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in 2021. According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, military exports to the Arab region would exceed $1 billion this year.
