Morocco Seeks Israeli Delilah Cruise Missiles to Bolster Air Force

Morocco has just entered into negotiations with the Israeli company Elbit Systems with a view to acquiring the Delilah cruise missile, a weapon capable of hitting land and maritime targets at over 250 km.
Morocco wants to acquire this Israeli missile, Delilah, to strengthen its air force, which does not yet have a cruise missile. Negotiations are underway to conclude an agreement with the company Elbit Systems, the designer of this device. But the approval of the Israeli security institutions is necessary to finalize this agreement, reports Defensa, noting that a lobby formed by Moroccan Jews is trying to convince these Israeli institutions of Morocco’s good intentions.

Morocco wants to use this Israeli missile mainly on its F-5 fighters of the air force, which it plans to upgrade by equipping them with an AESA fire control radar, digital displays, an advanced data link, advanced sensor and jamming systems, as well as a set of modern air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons.
The Delilah missiles have been developed for a few years by Israel Military Industries (IMI, now integrated into Elbit Systems). They are equipped with an advanced electro-optical (E/O) seeker for day, night and all-weather use, and have the ability to hit land and maritime targets at over 250 km and pre-assess combat damage.
