Morocco Acquires Advanced Israeli "Kamikaze" Drones Amid Regional Tensions

Morocco has ordered "kamikaze" drones from the Israeli aerospace company, Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI). This will strengthen its armament in a context marked by the exacerbation of tensions between the kingdom and Algeria.
The Israeli aerospace company IAI (Israeli Aerospace Industries) and Morocco have signed an agreement on the delivery of Harop drones, so-called "kamikazes", unmanned combat aerial vehicles containing nearly 20 kg of explosives, designed to evolve over the battlefield and dive on targets to destroy them, reports the Israeli daily Haaretz. These kamikaze drones are "relatively simple to build and have devastating consequences," said Africa Intelligence.
Since the normalization of their diplomatic relations, Morocco and Israel are working to strengthen their military cooperation. Last week, the Israeli Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, made a historic visit to Rabat, where a framework agreement was signed by his Moroccan counterpart, Abdellatif Loudiyi. "This is a very important thing that will also allow us to exchange our opinions, launch joint projects and promote Israeli exports so far," stressed the Israeli minister.
