Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi Named Africa’s Young Player of the Year, Vows to Elevate National Team

The young African player of the year 2019, Achraf Hakimi, is now more motivated to reveal Moroccan football after his coronation in Egypt.
The Atlas Lion expressed his pride in receiving this distinction as the best young player of the year 2019 from the African Football Confederation, during the awards ceremony. This awards evening was marked by the presence of the presidents of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the presidents of the African federations, including Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and several African players as well as African legends.
"I am both proud and happy to win this prestigious award," he said to MAP during the evening. The young African player of the year also made a commitment to redouble his efforts even more to achieve better performances within his club and the national team in the coming years.
On loan to Borussia Dortmund by Real Madrid, the young Moroccan prodigy is having a good season. On the question of his probable return to Real, he promises to think about it more clearly at the end of his loan.
Achraf Hakimi intends to finish the season as best as possible with the German club. The important thing for the young African player is to honor Moroccan football during the current period.
