Morocco’s 2030 World Cup Bid Includes Fez Stadium as Key Venue

The Grand Stade de Fès is officially part of the infrastructure proposed by Morocco to host the 2030 World Cup matches.
Fouzi Lekjaâ, the delegate minister in charge of the Budget and president of Morocco’s World Cup 2030 bid committee, confirmed this during an intervention at the House of Representatives.
Lekjaâ highlighted the assets of Fez, in particular its large stadium with a capacity of over 40,000 seats, recalling that Morocco will use it during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, and then for the 2030 World Cup. According to Lekjaâ, the city of Fez and its stadium will not only be among the candidates to host the World Cup, but will also benefit from a renovation plan to improve and perhaps expand their capacity.
"This stadium will have the honor of hosting CAN 2025 matches when Morocco wins the organization. It will also have the honor of hosting 2030 World Cup matches as Fez is one of the cities selected as part of the Moroccan candidacy, which will allow this stadium to benefit from a renovation program," said Fouzi Lekjaâ.
