Rachid Tahiri, 39, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for broadcasting on the video hosting platform YouTube content deemed offensive. This is the verdict handed down by the Settat court.
The Settat court found Rachid Tahiri, alias "Bassirou", a bus driver, guilty of "offense to state institutions" and "the flag and symbol of the kingdom".
This conviction follows the complaint filed by a local association called "Royal Youth". This association demanded that the public prosecutor initiate criminal proceedings against this individual.
The bus driver had broadcast "sallies" massively reported as "potentially offensive or shocking."
