Moroccan Youths Attempt Risky Swim from Ceuta to Morocco for Ramadan Reunion

In the hope of finding the atmosphere of Ramadan with their families in Morocco, a group of young people, stranded in Ceuta since the borders were closed, tried to brave the state of emergency by swimming to the city of Fnideq.
The adventure ended in failure, reports the newspaper El Faro, following the intervention of Guardia civil agents, who pulled them out of the water and placed them in custody for violating the health emergency state.
According to the daily, which estimates that this new form of reverse immigration is unusual, the young people wanted to reach Morocco in order to spend Ramadan with their families and loved ones.
Nearly 22,000 Moroccans stranded around the world are awaiting a decision from the Moroccan government to be able to return to the country. A decision that should take place very soon, according to Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs.
