Moroccan World Cup Star Amallah Seeks Transfer Amid Standard Liège Dispute

In disgrace with Standard de Liège, who sidelined him after his decision to leave the club, Moroccan international Selim Amallah could find an exit door this winter. After his remarkable performance at the 2022 World Cup, the attacking midfielder could be the target of clubs such as Valencia and Nottingham Forest.
The 26-year-old player is going through a complicated situation at the club. Since late September, he has not played any matches and has even been sent back to Standard’s B team. The reason given by the club’s officials: "non-compliance with certain commitments made as part of the contract negotiations."
The Moroccan’s recent performance at the World Cup and his new status as a semi-finalist in the competition have apparently not changed the club’s position, which has kept him on the bench. The president, Pierre Locht, seems to be sticking to his position, recently declaring that "Standard will not do the work for another club. It is not up to us to create added value for players who will leave for free." According to him, this would be "the death of the club."
Under contract with the Belgian club until next June, Amallah could relaunch himself in another championship as early as this winter. According to Nieuwsblad, the Atlas Lion would be coveted by two major European clubs, namely: Valencia and Nottingham Forest. However, the details of a potential transfer remain to be defined.
