Moroccan Women’s Rights Activist Robbed in Madrid Shopping Center

Passing through Madrid to attend a human rights meeting, Moroccan activist Aïcha Chenna was the victim of a theft on the evening of Friday, October 18.
During a visit to a shopping center, the Moroccan activist, famous for her defense of women, lost a handbag containing her passport, bank card, mobile phone and cash.
Forced to spend Friday on the street without papers or money, Aïcha Chenna declared to the police that she suspected two women who were posing as employees within the shopping center where she was.
The activist was able to return to the country the next day, after recovering a laissez-passer at the Kingdom’s consulate in Madrid and cash from friends to buy the plane ticket.
