Moroccan Women Arrive in Spain for Annual Berry Harvest Season

Moroccan seasonal workers have already arrived in Huelva, southern Spain, thanks to the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) to pick berries.
As usual, these Moroccan seasonal workers are hired during each agricultural season during the recruitment operation in the Spanish red fruit farms.
According to the Map, this is the first phase of this process, which concerns women with more than two campaigns to their credit. The presence of these Moroccan women is essential for this sector, acknowledge the managers of AgroMartin, one of the Spanish companies that has been calling on Moroccan day laborers for twelve years to meet their labor needs.
The selection of these women is done with the support and involvement of the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC). According to the same source, the Moroccan and Spanish authorities "have taken all necessary measures to ensure the success of this operation".
However, the managers specify that the arrival of the agricultural workers is carried out in four phases until March. Thus, 800 Moroccan agricultural workers are expected during this campaign. Even if they sometimes feel far from their families, the women are satisfied with the working and housing conditions. "We do miss our families, one of the workers recalls. But thanks to the free WiFi available in our neighborhoods, we can communicate with our loved ones daily".
