Moroccan Woman Delivers Baby Mid-Flight on Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Chicago

While she was with her husband on a plane connecting Istanbul to Chicago on the Turkish Airlines airline, a Moroccan woman gave birth to a baby boy.
A Moroccan woman became a mother in the air somewhere between Istanbul and Chicago. The events took place on Monday, September 27. In mid-flight, the woman felt contractions, reports the Turkish agency Anadolu. A neurosurgeon immediately joined her following an emergency call from the commercial flight crew.
The doctor isolated the pregnant woman in a quiet area of the plane and then helped her give birth under the best possible conditions. She gave birth to a baby boy at an altitude of 10,000 meters above the ocean. Golderin Dogo, head of the team on board, cut the umbilical cord of Mehdi.
The mother and newborn are in good health. The crew closely monitored them during the flight. Upon arrival, they were transferred to the hospital.
