Moroccan Woman Accused of Cutting Cousin's Tongue in Alleged Rape Attempt

A man would have, in Skhirat, tried to rape his cousin (daughter of his maternal uncle) and the latter would have cut off his tongue. But the man has another version of the same story. Who to believe?

The protagonists of this case are a man, a deputy authority (a Moqadem), sexagenarian, as well as his maternal cousin, in her thirties, according to Assabah, the source of this information. This file, which has been handled by the Court of Appeal of Rabat since this Wednesday, concerns assault and battery. But the story speaks of an attempted rape and a cut tongue.

The man would have arrived at the home of his maternal uncle, in an advanced state of drunkenness, and would have wanted to have relations with his cousin, according to Assabah. Except that, when trying to kiss her, she would have bitten his tongue with force. The man was rushed to the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat.

The Moqadem would have, according to Assabah, lost a large part of his tongue in these events which therefore, according to the same source, constitute a case of serious assault and battery resulting in permanent disability.

The same source specifies that the Moqadem wanted the matter not to be made public, but his family would have insisted that he file a complaint. The latter then did so, while specifying that his cousin had drugged him before doing this to him, to settle some scores. The woman was taken into custody and she claims, for her part, that she simply defended herself because her uncle was going to rape her.
